Works perfectly for me. Highly recommended.
Works perfectly for me. Highly recommended.
Merlin Mann first mentioned this app on Back 2 Work. I bought the original iFlicks and was pleased. Bought iFlicks 2 and it’s much better - with more options and a streamlined UI. This app does all that you need to watch your movies on your Apple TV or Roku.
If you already have iFlick just leave it as it is because what’s working worth a lot more than appealing promises ! This iFlick 2 is fairly more complicated to handle an in the end just do not give you anything more. The most insulting is that once you,ve already paid for the original software, these people ask you to paid a second time to get an “upgrade” which is not. They’ve just rewrite the same program it to be more complicated and less performant.
iFlicks does one thing, and really only one thing, and that is adding metadata to video files. Most of what the app does can be done manually: search the web and online databases for metadata, and attach the metadata yourself in e.g. iTunes. iFlicks 2 just makes this process much simpler and much faster. In the simplest case, drag the file into iFlicks 2, click search, and the app finds and attached the metadata automatically. The updated video file can then be dragged into iTunes. I find this convenience hugely beneficial. I save time and efforts. Averaging the cost over some number of video files, and it is worth the investment. The app has a nice interface and functions as advertised. iFlicks 2 is really good at recognizing North-American English-spoken movies published within the last say 25 years. It seems to rely on only a single database which can be a bottleneck. Non-English movies, TV series, and older less popular movies are often missing from the database, or the information is very limited. It’d be huge improvement if iFlicks 2 could search more databases, and have a more a more intelligent search engine instead of only relying on the online database’s own search engine. The non-intelligent basic search facility is its weakness. iFlicks has advanced options like rules and subtitle handling, hardly any of which I use.
Essential if you use iTunes/your Apple TV to play and manage your video content. Absolutely worth the price.
If you own an apple tv or an iPad, this is a MUST HAVE app. Simply transfers TV, movies to iTunes while automatically fetching the MetaData. Well worth the price tag. In just a few minutes, any of your video files are ready to share with all your devices!
A must if you manage your movies and TV shows in iTunes. I hit the occasional bug or annoyance, but overall, a must-have app if you have an Apple TV.
i never write reviews. but i really appreciate how useful this program has been for me in building an iTunes video library from so many different formats. never problems, and the developer is prompt in responses. highly recommended
I can’t believe I didn’t know about this app sooner.. I usually use Handbrake to rip my DVD’s and then I would find all the descriptions and album art from google images. This app saves SOOOO much time. you simply drag either from a folder or Itunes into Iflicks, choose what you want to do and then it scans to find descriptions and album art. I was skeptical at first because I was reading online that the app modifies/reencodes the movies you added into the app. This is absolutely false. Maybe this was the case in Iflicks 1 but this app allows you to choose if you want to upate metadata only or if you want metadata and name change or metadata and encode. As I mentioned, I use handbrake to encode and I just needed something to add the proper metadata quickly and easily. I will be using this app all the time now for all my descriptions and album art. Totally worth the money.
It’s a pretty app but handbrake is free. They both take the same amount of time and handbrake has far more features and is more intuitive.
I can’t say enough good things about this app! I’ve been using it since it came out and it’s a staple of my video-tagging workflow. No other ap like it even comes close. Worth every penny!
I love using iFlicks to keep all my movies organized and in my iTunes library for watching on my AppleTV. I especially appreciate the powerful file renaming templates for automatically renaming converted movies.
I was skeptical due to the price but this app really does it all. In the past, I’ve separately used iSquint, Handbrake & Handbrake Batch, iDentify, MetaX & MetaZ, Subler, Subsmarine and others to convert, tag, and subtitle. All these apps are fine in their own right but iFlicks is by far the best I’ve ever tried. If I had iFlicks years ago, I would have saved dozens of hours and tons of grief completing my huge video library. To borrow Apple’s saying, it just works. The metadata lookup is magical and it hasn’t failed once and the interface is simple and intuitive. I have contacted support regarding some basic questions and replies have been swift and concise. If you are looking for a solution to metadata tagging, video format converting, and subtitling, this is the superior choice and is worth every penny.
Most used program on my Mac. Love it. Saves me hours of work.
Most recent version puts subtitles at top and no way to adjust its’ position. Fed up with this program. I can’t believe I paid twice; once for iFlicks and once for iFlicks 2. Both versions are unintuitive; requires way too many clicks to get the job done (i.e. tedious at best). Don’t buy!
I had the original iFlicks and felt it worked perfect. Now I keep getting a pop up to purchase Iflicks 2 because iflicks 1 will no longer be available on the app store. I folded and purchased iflicks2. First try, it crashes. Try again and it freezes. Meh, ill stick with the one that worked perfect every time. wast of 20$.
It just work. Remuxing is fastert than iVI app.
Awesome APP , very fast encoding. Its great lets say goodbye to handbrake and metaz
I love this app.
Congrats :( I’ve bought the app for full price, without upgrade discount. Describe for others, how to get it. But yes, great app.
