iFlicks 2 App Reviews

Great app for converting movies and adding metadata

Great app that gives you all the metadata you normally have to gather yourself via i.e. Rotten Tomatoes. All actors, plot etc. I had problems with sound on many movies when importing them to iTunes. Contact the developer, support very fast and there is solutions. Recommended.

Great for Movie/TV Metadata!

iFlicks2 is amazing at adding metadata to my TV and Movie files! It really saved me a lot of time cleaning up ripped shows by applying the correct episode info. The developer has also been steadily releasing updates — adding functionality or squashing bugs. It isn’t something you buy once and have to live with anything that made it past testing. The developer has also been responsive to tech support emails. (He helped me track down that the source of some bad tags were from a metadata database the app uses — many people added metadata for the same show and the one I used had some bad data… Garbage in, garbage out.)

fix subtitles positioning

since last update the subtitles are stuck on the top of the screen for iTunes player and appleTV, please fix this, great app though

Excellent app

Great application. Very simple and syraighforward to use. No issues wit hfile converted at all. Great way to automate Wish would have an easier way to see an audit trail and more tweaks ala IVI (ex setting for converted audio bitrate). But these nitpicking things.

great app!

one of the most useful utilites for the mac and tagging media.

Migration of movie collection

I recently moved my entire libraray of movies and TV shows from AVI and othe various formats to everything in iTunes. This app is a MUST!!! Ths best app I’ve ever used to transcode movies, pull in movie/tv show poster art and show descriptions. Automatically imports into iTunes, everything is smooth and runs clean. I have Apple TVs throughout my house and use a Mac Mini to serve all my movies, music, etc via home sharing. This app takes all of my media content to the next level, very professional, thank you!

Bad Habits

iFlicks is an incredible convenience that also includes great features for power users. The developers are responsive, fix bugs, provide support, and make periodic improvements.

A must have for an iTunes Lover

I like having metadata for my tvshows and movies and IFlicks 2 is a very good addition to my arsenal of tools. The application is without doubt very simple to use and intuitive. No need to specify video/ audio settings for convertion from a non iTunes supported format to iTunes compatible format. Also the use of free databases is almost invisible while using the application. However I did notice that when these data sources like TVDb or MovieDB have services outages, the application suffers in loading the information correctly. For e.g. I tried to add an episode of Naruto Shippuden to iTunes but it was not able to understand the show from the filename. Also When i tried to manually add the information by searching using the Show field in the app with English and Japanese language, it was able to get information for the show but when searching for the episode in the Name field, instead of searching for episodes just for the Show, it searched for episodes for all shows out there and i could not add my episode. I think this should be fixed. This is the only reason i haven’t given this app 5 star

Used to be better...

Half the time tagging tv shows it’ll tag half then give the other half just artwork then ill have to go back through and re load all the ones that didn’t get the data the first time. Not to mention sometimes the data just never loads and it spins forever. This app used to work very quickyl with little to no problem but has been little more than a hinderance to my meta tagging recently...

can you add X265 support?

I use this to update all my movies, and tv shows that i place on my server for Roku and AppleTV, Love it, FAST Muxing from any format to whatever you need. Best $25 i ever spent.

So Good it Blew My Mind

Here are the highlights: • Shockingly fast video conversion • Video conversion is perfect, no issues with mismatched audio/video • Incredibly smart parsing of file names • Great meta tagging iFlicks 2 is everything I was looking for, and is blowing me away! Don’t hesitate, it will make your life better. Here is the long version. I’ve been using version 1 of iFlicks for a long time and didn’t upgrade until now. The old version would often fail on .mkv files, and since .mkv seems to becoming a more popular format I thought the new version might translate them better. I mainly view video is on a Apple TV 4, but sometimes use Apple TV 3, and Apple TV 1. I was blown away by how fast the files were being translated, and thought there was no way it could be that fast. I’ve checked file after file, and they all work, with no video/audio sync problem that I would sometimes get. Instead of taking 45 minutes to an hour to translate, iFlicks 2 was doing it in under a minute, with better meta data, and much smarter parsing of file names. Frankly I’m amazed, OK, yes, there are a few quibbles. There are some interface issues, mostly the program seems to cutoff the top row of videos when you send a bunch of videos to the queue, you can’t hit delete to remove selected videos (you have to use the “-“ button at the bottom), and I’m not sold on the Queue and new videos sharing the viewing pane. I miss the queue being seperate. However these are all minor quibbles that do not prevent me from using iFlicks 2 which is proving to be a great program that is fast, smart, handles video conversion very well, and frankly makes my life a little bit better!

Essential

Apple won’t praise this app because of the iTunes store but it really should be considered an essential app on apple’s part.
