Here are the highlights:
• Shockingly fast video conversion
• Video conversion is perfect, no issues with mismatched audio/video
• Incredibly smart parsing of file names
• Great meta tagging
iFlicks 2 is everything I was looking for, and is blowing me away! Don’t hesitate, it will make your life better.
Here is the long version.
I’ve been using version 1 of iFlicks for a long time and didn’t upgrade until now. The old version would often fail on .mkv files, and since .mkv seems to becoming a more popular format I thought the new version might translate them better.
I mainly view video is on a Apple TV 4, but sometimes use Apple TV 3, and Apple TV 1.
I was blown away by how fast the files were being translated, and thought there was no way it could be that fast. I’ve checked file after file, and they all work, with no video/audio sync problem that I would sometimes get. Instead of taking 45 minutes to an hour to translate, iFlicks 2 was doing it in under a minute, with better meta data, and much smarter parsing of file names. Frankly I’m amazed,
OK, yes, there are a few quibbles. There are some interface issues, mostly the program seems to cutoff the top row of videos when you send a bunch of videos to the queue, you can’t hit delete to remove selected videos (you have to use the “-“ button at the bottom), and I’m not sold on the Queue and new videos sharing the viewing pane. I miss the queue being seperate. However these are all minor quibbles that do not prevent me from using iFlicks 2 which is proving to be a great program that is fast, smart, handles video conversion very well, and frankly makes my life a little bit better!
